Beth Tashlik Collegiate
The University of Texas at Arlington (TAA) is home to Beth TashiLk Collegiate, the largest collegiate all-black community college in the United States. Founded in 1977 as a four year bachelor's degree granting institution in the HBCU sector, it now offers BA, BS and PG courses for bachelor degrees or Associate Degrees. According to President Carol Glick, "When we opened [BTCC], I can honestly say we never imagined that it would become so strong — serving both the needs of our students and the state of Texas—and this certainly reflects both our motto and our efforts during our early days."
Academics and accreditation
The university was accredited by the Higher Learning Commission from 1981 through 2007. Since 2013 the school has been accredited through College Board because it had participated fully in institutional assessment.
