Garmin Server Outage
I still don't know why it crashed. Maybe its a bug on my system, but other systems around my house did not have the problems... Until today....
I'm having issues with my Garmin server too -- no link for the web site seems to work right now. They say its being cleaned up, which is great, but you can expect that this means there are larger problems with routing of messages back and forth as well as their backend systems (which never seems to be taken care of quickly). Unfortunately Garmin does not seem to listen to non-engineering members of their support team who are responsible for ticket responses; especially when they ask to see logs & information about the problem!
If any Garmin fans want to help us out by sending some logs themselves, we'd appreciate it! We'd even take an order form if you guys think that would encourage people to participate in production management. Right now most of us are just brainstorming ideas and communicating how annoying it's going to be from day #7 until day #099. I emailed their support tech too: bscire@gtdmail.com
In retrospect - it's very frustrating--one potential reason is that all of the Garmin servers at Lowe's are packed full of customers (some could even be friends or family) etc. It took more than 5 minutes to handle one customer before everything went bam!
One guy was able to order new tires because he knew what did not load properly - and having been "banned" several times with Garmin firmware updates - figured he has to update, eh? No way.
Thanks in advance... :-p

FYI - For those wondering... we're installing an ARM based Linux system for our clientele soon, so that may actually help resolve any connectivity problems... along with making sure that electronics back end servers are loaded correctly!
