Why we are best friends: Brad and I met when I started my book tour at his house. He had a little house he rented out in Roanoke back then when I was living there for college. We go to church and everything together - all on small town terms that many adults won't feel comfortable talking with their children about...bikes being our passion while texting with each other at 1am. Brad has always been cool with me riding more or less naked down 4th street at night if that's what I'm feeling like doing. Plus a few months ago I asked him if he would take care of me at my parents' house when I come back from college 'cause they're moving because his mom is sick...just having fun.

What does writing mean to you?: Write anything good...anything, almost anything. Great? Perfect? Not really. But it can be anything you want it to be. My whole life writing is me forcing myself to do something every single day or else I lose out on an opportunity for growth in so many ways. Especially as a young adult writer who loves escape. What drives me: family. Also friends. Obviously. :)
