Got the bad end of the story right haha. We know all there is to know about them from what we hear in "The Gunslinger." They actually were not actually that great designs (bout as sexy as a footstool) but they made an incredibly sexy railgun out of junk! The '54 at least has three prongs which was plenty for some decent strength...if you can get your hands on one it's become really useful. :)

If you ever want a cheap model 5 with something similar to the ratchet thing then check out Gunpla Maxi Kits--the 8mm kits I have by them are all very good quality, lots of single parts, multiple options and multiple scales like 1/144-1/500 etc. I'm sure they've been updated since the original Redline though.

I don't think there is anywhere near enough stock of any of them available outside of Japan to make it worthwhile, especially considering how niche they were in availability. At best, if you're importing anything, *most* would likely ship to a local store because of it being Japanese built. Some manufacturers were occasionally selling the kit separately as well until the 1980s. Can't say I'm aware these days.

It's not actually too difficult, I have plans to import 3 at the expense of making my own.
