Listed below are information on the last known Texas Ranger listed in Federal Prison or out of Texas prison:


April 1990 – Richard Adelson (a former drug trafficker and two-time sex offender was released July 19, 1991 from Waco federal penitentiary/Trial Site for mail fraud, illegal importation of cocaine and possession of drug paraphernalia; served 30 months).


July 1994 – Jerry Michael Kiley (from Andersonville state prison for shooting to death 5 members of his family; formerly a fugitive wanted by New Mexico authorities for robbery; sentenced August 7, 1995 but granted parole May 31, 1996 and is currently serving time at Hilleman Correctional Center in West Kansas City).


June 1999 – Ronald Sernson-United States Navy veteran and prisoner aboard The Poseidon while illegally bringing back $680 million in cocaine for Mexican drug lord Miguel Angel Rodriquez; died after being shot with live ammunition and not able to be revived due to heart failure when he hanged himself with sheet ropes placed to the noose on March 20, 2002 upon arrival at United States Penitentiary, Terre Haute, Indiana for violating terms for parole eligibility; became oldest inmate by two years when he had celebrated 29 years behind bars along with fellow inmates serving life sentences.
