Jensen Ackles Cyclops

Thor Captain America

You mean Dr. Strange, right?

Well I know a lot of people call him "Thor", but when it comes down to what he identifies as...well we all know the difference.

Can't agree - sure they are both aliens in space for over 30 years (but...JK), but they seem incredibly different

OK. It was just how Reddit talked about them making it come across like that is all :/ Thank you for your clarification!

And how *Star Trek: Discovery* referred to William Shatner as "Captain Kirk" instead of the more common term "Uncle Willy".

Most people don't see what's behind the door ;) Star Trek can be funny when used correctly :) My brother who has yet to watch DS9 actually got into Star Trek this week despite being on the fence...Discovery was too *forced*. Then again, if I learned anything from watching Fringe it's that writers should try one or two new alien species before launching into heavy-handed fan service.

I absolutely adore DS9 and believe that it's definitely Star Trek's best series IMO. I started watching with Voyager and it wasn't until Enterprise though that I really got hooked on them so personally I much prefer not playing up the fact that they're related by having them refer to each other as Uncle Willy and Captain Kirk because of...bad examples etc

Sidenote: if you haven't seen Star Trek: TNG, then yes go watch that right now. That will help reaffirm why you love Star Trek. It plays things out well without resorting to just using quips like Uncle Willy, which isn't everything but might take away the mystery some; Voyager also tried something similar IMO.

Haha one second. Do *you* have any favs for voyager's scenes though?
