Great for riding and racing, even the stiffest ropes will break under a load of 50 pounds.


It is very quick to use and easy to install or remove from a boat or trailer hitch on vehicles. It does not intermesh with the hitch on many tow rigs so if towing off road get their equipment bag instead of this one. The only things that were an issue was you needed tools to open the door which put a little more friction on your gas hand when starting it up after cutting the rope. Also note the camera piece clamps down less secure and tends to loosen as it warms up, be careful. This Winch could easily be used in conjunction with other winches also; Great haul-off handle too. Looks like a hoot.

I installed this winch on my trawler about 2 years ago....but I sold it

somehow. As soon as I rebuilt mine it was on sale again at Rockler...Seems to be dropping in price recently.

Have read some problems people have had with it but so far no complaints here.

Won't give bad 5 stars, its just average value......something to be aware

of.

Other than that; yes its a excellent product....absolutely love using it

for hauling boats or cargo on water or on land...just make sure it fits your vehicle.


Was not really looking forward to using this device but once I got it home it was a lot easier and quicker then I expected. Clean installation included as well and did not require any extra drilling or wrenches.. Couldn't ask for much more at that price and on par with quality control of most other products.


Is there any durability issues with this winch? Seems reasonable with 12mm steel gears of mine holding up quite nicely. Any trouble with breaking stringers or hooks attached to the shafts? Seems pretty straightforward. Heavy on it myself but I'd hate if something broke my rumbling rig on my way out. A portable type setup might work fine.
