Devonta Smith Catch

TD: 8:51 WR : Marvin Jones vs SF

Jones had 12 receptions today. He hasn't been very good this year though. I could see a similar game for Smith from a few weeks ago but hopefully not to that extent. But then again who else is going to get 12+ receptions when teams are missing players?

This isn't the 80s. Even if teams make their D line play 8 times in the backfield before game time these days, you still have the receiving core to attack their weaknesses...I doubt a well organized defense like SF will score more than 3 or 4 each play - That would be difficult.

In the NFC with our offense you never know what's around the corner. We seem to light them up and run it out of iso up the middle sometimes just to throw people off scheme wise. I think at home against a crappy red zone defense we can pretty sure what we're doing there too. It all depends on how good our run blocking is

That doesn't work as much any longer, mind you, since they've started playing better coverage. Last season they knew we were running off screens early in the week but by the end of the game it wasn't really an issue anymore because we'd run into some blitzing CBs while we run screen plays. Nowadays when guys are staying in box or hybrid alignment the safety already knows what play he'll see coming out of the shotgun...so we can usually cross it out mid-play.
