I actually agree with this guy on some level. Obviously his most intelligent point was made here and he's pulling the typical sports media act of "never underestimate your audience". The trouble is the audience is not necessarily the market, but they aren't wrong either I guess...we're mostly a minority watching NHL games in /r/hockey anyway though :P

However from time to time there will be genuine interest from people who don't give a rat's ass about hockey (there were some earlier but since then nothing really sticks out) - I was referring mostly towards this type of material which doesn't belong anywhere at all in NHL discussions IMO. I think we should have our own hockey subreddit for such types of content tbh but what do I know?...I'm the moderator haha ;)

yeah.. If you go from about half way down to the bottom of there upvotes...this place should probably stay off topic. That said one of my favorite things is going to those places now and seeing how many fans show their face because of posts like this...
